Andy Langford, Co-Pastor
Andy Langford has been the senior pastor of Central since 2003. Andy is a leading expert in worship, evangelism, and reforms in The United Methodist Church. Born and raised in North Carolina, Andy was educated at Davidson College, Duke Divinity School, and Emory University. From 1985-1992, Andy was responsible for the worship, music, and preaching programs of The United Methodist Church. Andy loves working at Central and this great congregation. Andy is a writer in addition to being a pastor. In addition to being the General Editor of The United Methodist Book of Worship, Andy has also written the following: Transitions in Worship: Moving from Traditional to Contemporary Worship, A New Connection: Reforming The United Methodist Church, Christian Weddings, plus twenty other books.
His late father (Tom) was Methodist systematic theologian at Duke University and his mother (Ann Marie) lives in Durham. He is married to The Reverend Sally Overby Langford (currently Senior Pastor at Davidson UMC) and they have two married adult children: Ann Green Duncan and Sarah Overby Stephens, plus three grandchildren, Roan, Emmy and Evie. Andy enjoys working in his yard, cooking, exercising, reading, writing, and golf.
