Susan Theodos, Musician
Susan Theodos is Central’s Minister of Music. Donna Hill has said it best: “It is with great excitement that we offered the Minister of Music position to Susan Theodos and she has accepted. We believe she brings exceptional personal and musical gifts to share with us.” Susan brings “a high level of musicianship and personal love and passion for the Ministry of Music within a church.”
Susan grew up in Rochester, New York and attended the Eastman School of Music for piano and organ for seven years. In her musical career, as her husband had corporate relocations, she served First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; Norcross First United Methodist Church, Georgia (a mega-United Methodist Church with 500 children/youth/adults in their music program); and several other Christian and Jewish congregations. She has been the accompanist for very strong children, youth, and adult choirs.
Her references praised her abundantly: “sensitive to others, friendly, accommodating, no reservations, superlative person and musician, excellent talent, organized, flexible, sweet, humorous,” and more. As one former pastor said, “Oh you lucky people. I am jealous.” Susan is married to Ken, an executive with the Kodak Corporation. They have two grown sons, Kenny (25) and James (22), who are both out of college. Her hobbies include running, yoga, pilates, and photography. She and Ken are living in Charlotte.
