All women are invited to be a part of United Methodist Women (UMW). All women who commit themselves to the purpose of UMW are members of this group. Worldwide, over a million women are active in the UMW, making it one of the largest women’s groups in the world. Upcoming Event:
At Central, women primarily participate in the UMW via small groups called “Circles.” All of the Circles are named in honor of prominent women who have been members of Central: Coltrane Jones, Estaline Clark, Houston Tuttle, and Jubilee Ward. Circles meet monthly (except during the summer months of June through August) to discuss mission projects, business issues, and member’s needs. Circle meetings always include delicious treats and a guest presentation. Learn more about UMW at Central:
All Circles, except Jubilee Ward and Circle #5, meet on the first Tuesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon (unless otherwise announced). Locations (either at the church or at the home of a Circle member) are announced in the church newsletter and in the announcement section of the weekly worship bulletin. The Jubilee Ward Circle meets on the second Sunday of the month from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. downstairs in the Living Values Sunday School Classroom. Jubilee Ward meets at the same time as United Methodist Men [link]; the men provide breakfast at a nominal charge. Circle #5 is a new circle that formed in the fall of 2009. This Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Parlor of the church. Contact Mem Luther, President of the UMW, for more information on the UMW.
