Teachers and Curriculum
The preschool staff at Central's preschool is composed of four excellent preschool-certified teachers who have been at Central for a combined total of 55 years. Using Creative Curriculum, which focuses on fine motor skills, creativity, social skills, and spiritual development, our teachers stay current on childcare resources through workshops, courses, meetings, and literature. They create a positive and child-friendly environment that assists in educating our diverse student body in the basics of numbers, colors, shapes, letters, and words as well as self-respect and kindness for others. Enrichment activities such as yoga, music, and short field trips and monthly extracurricular“guest speakers” who involve our children and cover topics such as dental health, fishing, bee-keeping, Venus fly traps, therapy dogs, earthworms, and bag-piping supplement the preschool curriculum. Children participate in music with our Music Minister each Monday. Importantly, chapel time with our ministers builds a foundation of faith.
