backpack buddies 1Central partners with First Presbyterian Church and the Coltrane Webb Elementary School to provide weekend meals for children and their families in need.  As we provide these meals for 13 families there is a continual need for various food staples.  Recently Coltrane Webb has begun to collect toiletries for a Hygene Closet.  Those full size items are also welcome! 

We would greatly appreciate your help in collecting the following items:

  • Canisters of oatmeal
  • Boxes of macaroni and cheese
  • Cans of green beans
  • Boxes of spaghetti noodles
  • Cans of tuna
  • Plastic jars of peanut butter

It is time to gear up for a new school year!  This upcoming school year, we are continue our partnership with First Presbyterian Church and Coltrane-Webb School to provide weekend meals for 20 children and their families. You can volunteer in the following ways: packing the bags, grocery shopping for assigned food items, and delivering the bags.  If you are interested in helping in any of these capacities, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. We are in need of the following items:  cans of tuna; 1lb packages of rice; 1lb packages of spaghetti noodles; cans of green beans; cans of carrots; peanut butter; cans of fruit cocktail; granola bars. The Hygene Closet needs full size shampoo and toothpaste, bars of soap and toothbrushes.  Thank you for your support!
