Habitat for Humanity of Cabarrus County
Habitat for Humanity Cabarrus County, a non-profit Christian housing ministry, celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. Over those 25 years, Habitat Cabarrus has now built 140 new houses, completed rehab work, home repairs or weatherization work on over 100 houses and has served 12 families in transitional housing. Nearly 800 people, including more than 400 children have benefitted from Habitat Cabarrus’ work in our community. The Habitat for Humanity affiliate was founded in Cabarrus County in 1989. In 1990 they completed their first build. In 2005 the ReStore opened in Kannapolis with a great deal of help from Central member, Dana Richardson. In 2014 Habitat Cabarrus served 45 families. They have gone beyond building homes. They are revitalizing communities in Cabarrus County.
