The experts who do congregational studies tell us that the Church often misses the mark with one particular age group; young adults. After youth group, during the college years a large portion of this group fall away from the church only to return when they have children. They often are unable to find a place in adult Sunday school classes, and need more than Sunday worship to keep their focus.

Central United Methodist is committed to finding a place for our younger adults. We started our young adult ministry successfully by offering the Beginnings class at the tavern. With a top attendance of nearly 30 people, and an average attendance of 18 participants, a foundation for young adult ministry was formed.

The purpose of all these events is to continue to build our core group of young adults. This core group will direct the future of young adult ministry. We all know that children are the future of our church. Our young adults are our immediate future, and by emphasizing them we make the church of tomorrow stronger.
