While living in CA they did a lot of camping in the Sierra Nevadas. Their favorite place we returned year after year was Dinkey Creek.  She worked at a Lutheran Church in Turlock Ca for 11 years. 

She and her husband moved to NC 4 years ago, as both my daughters and two sisters live here. Her youngest daughter got married after living here 1 1/2 years. Her husband had a stroke 6 years ago and is disabled and stays at home. So basically she's the "breadwinner" now. Life can be a real struggle at times but as a family their hope and their focus is on Christ, and He has brought them thru many many trials and I know will continue to do so.

They have enjoyed living in NC so very much and seeing many areas of the East coast. It is so beautiful and the people are so nice and friendly. She is so thrilled with the history everywhere she goes and doubts they will be able to take all of it in as fast as they'd like to.

Truly the "Joy of the Lord is her Strength" but her other joy is her family. The girls and families come home every Sunday for dinner after church and theyt play games or sit outside and enjoy the beautiful NC weather.

Her greatest Joy since living here has been seeing both her girls and one of their friends re-commit their lives to living a Christian life, and all three of them leading the Praise Team at church.
