Ben Sloan, Associate Pastor
Associate Pastor Ben Sloan is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary and will be ordained in June. Most recently he was the lead pastor at Bethany UMC in Albemarle. He is serves as Adjunct Professor at Pfeiffer University, teaching International Aid and Development.
Ben is married to Rosalyn, a nurse, with two daughters, Elizabeth, 3, and Mariellen, 8 months. His daughters give him much joy, he wants them to grow up happy and kind.
Ben is versitile; fluent in Spanish, and proficient with guitar, voice and harmonica. He's an artist, working with pottery, oi and watercolor painting, performance art, charcoal drawing and digital art.
Ben is passionate about teaching and missional engagement, as evidenced by three years spent in Nicaragua where he worked with youth and adults in personal development and practical skills, coordinated a community garden and taught English classes. He also has experience working with homeless ministries in DC.
God did some incredible work through Ben at Bethany UMC, helping them grow in both worship attendence and in their enthusiasm to love, follow and serve Jesus.
